Right now students are working on one-point perspective drawings. This technique allows students to easily achieve the appearance of a 3-dimensional landscape on a flat/2-dimensional piece of paper. We looked at a lot of great drawings, paintings and prints that show perspective. Often artists use perspective to make things look 'real', one of the master artists we studied, M. C. Escher used perspective to create imaginary worlds that are equally real and unreal. Another artist was inspired to test the limits of Escher impossible creations by building a 3-D model of Escher's "Relativity" using Legos.
